Club Philosophy
PHILOSOPHY:
SSC promotes the concept that, along with overall physical fitness, soccer teaches players intellectual, emotional, and social skills that can be used throughout life. Our program focuses on individual player development and growth. We believe that winning is not an essential yardstick of achievement. Instead, our program’s success is measured by each player’s overall improvement and by each player’s level of enjoyment of the game.
COACHING:
SSC appoints experienced coaches who understand both child development and soccer. Our coaches continue to seek education and training for themselves in all aspects of the game. Each of our coaches is given the flexibility to set up their own program; yet all adhere to the standards and values set forth by the club.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES:
To establish age-appropriate goals for players and teams in order to develop confident and creative players. Building self esteem is a fundamental part of all training.
To teach sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility and respect for all involved with the game (parents, teammates, coaches, officials and opponents).
To value competition and winning but not above character and performance.
To make soccer fun to practice and play.
